LaToya Maley has worked to ensure justice for the people of Hamilton County for more than 13 years. Her authenticity in upholding justice is exhibited by her legal knowledge, experience, and her dedication to fairness while presiding over cases affecting children and families. Her perspective growing up in this community and legal acumen earned working her way through the Hamilton County court system enriches her approach to ensuring that justice is accessible, transparent, and efficient.

Public Defender: LaToya spent 8 ⅕ years representing and protecting the rights of people who could not afford an attorney in Hamilton County Municipal and Common Pleas Courts.

Seasoned Trial Attorney: She has tried more than 100 cases, including jury trials, and served four years as Senior Trial Counsel.

Juvenile Court Magistrate: Today, LaToya makes decisions in hundreds of cases each year involving young people and families.

Born and raised in the heart of Cincinnati, LaToya comes from a working-class family. Her mother spent 20 years working at a nursing home, and her father worked in a factory for 30 years before being laid off just before retirement. Her experiences shaped the judge she’ll be: one who knows the law, understands the courtroom, and never forgets the people impacted by its decisions.

LaToya is a proud alumnus of the Cincinnati Public School system. She received her B.A in Criminal Justice at Northern Kentucky University and her J.D. from Salmon P. Chase College of Law. She has been licensed to practice law in Ohio since 2012 and is passionate about improving the local judicial system in Hamilton County as a devoted servant of the community that she calls home.

In her free time she spends time with family, prioritizing mental and physical health and wellness, and serving her community through various service-based organizations.
