Meet Latoya S. Maley

Latoya Maley has over a decade of experience ensuring justice for the people of Hamilton County. Latoya currently serves as a Magistrate in the Juvenile division of the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, a position she has held since 2023. Latoya’s authenticity in upholding justice is exhibited by her legal knowledge, experience, and her dedication to fairness while presiding over cases affecting children and families. Latoya spent many years representing and protecting the rights of citizens as an attorney at the Hamilton County Public Defender's Office. Her perspective growing up in this community and legal acumen earned working her way through the Hamilton County court system enriches her approach to ensuring that justice is accessible, transparent, and efficient. Born and raised in the heart of Cincinnati, she is a proud alumnus of the Cincinnati Public School system. She received her B.A in Criminal Justice at Northern Kentucky University and her J.D. from Salmon P. Chase College of Law. She has been licensed to practice law in Ohio since 2012 and is passionate about improving the local judicial system in Hamilton County as a devoted servant of the community that she calls home. In her free time she spends time with family, prioritizing mental and physical health and wellness, and serving her community through various service-based organizations.
I believe in a judicial system where justice is served when everyone is treated fairly and where the voice of the community is heard. I am committed to working hard on the bench everyday, ensuring the legal system works for the benefit of all.

Community representation is important because I envision a legal system that is accessible and efficient to all. I aim to engage with the community, understand their needs, and work towards a judicial system that serves everyone equally regardless of background or status.

Judicial Modernization
I will work in collaboration with other Judges to improve the transparency and efficiency of the Hamilton County Court system. Updating Court management systems, providing access to sentencing information, improving the jury selection process and being accessible to community members is top priority.
